Capgemini to manage nuclear IT

15 March 2007

A five-year systems administration contract will see Capgemini Sverige manage IT at all operating Swedish nuclear power plants, as well as the nuclear training and safety company KSU.

The contract includes support for the Ringhals, Oskarshamn, Forsmark and KSU power plants to administer the facilities’ block computer systems, an advanced real-time system used in part to oversee plant operations.

The deal is worth approximately SEK 50 million (€5.4 million).

Nils-Erik Näslund, contract manager at KSU said: “Our goals are to expand the systems’ life span by about ten years and to successively adapt the systems over time to the changes the plants undergo.”
