Canberra grows in Japan

3 July 2002

Canberra, a subsidiary of France-based Cogema, has opened a commercial and services subsidiary of its own in Tokyo - Canberra Japan.

The Japanese company opened for business on 13 May, with a staff of 12 directed by Sho Watanabe, who joined the Cogema group in February. It will market Cogema's nuclear measurements products, in particular spectrometry, scientific detectors and waste measurement or monitoring systems, which have been sold by distributors for a number of years.

Canberra Japan will eventually aim to develop radiation monitoring systems and radioprotection services for nuclear power plants.
