BSS to resource BE power

30 July 2001

The Flow Control division of BSS is working along with British Energy on a strategic resourcing initiative across its eight nuclear power plants. The initiative encompasses a range of valves, tubes and fittings, which will now be sourced via a coordinated approach from a network of BSS sales engineers and branches.

“British Energy required a company that had national capabilities combined with local flexibility,” said Ray Yeomans, the key account manager at BSS Flow Control Solutions. “We are finding that more and more large customers are asking us to look at ways of adding value to our contracts with them. British energy is an excellent example of this, because our sales engineers are able to review existing systems, identify where further improvements are possible, and to be able to share these opportunities with British Energy power stations around the UK,” he added.
