BHP Billiton acquires all of WMC Resources

Minerals giant BHP Billiton has announced that it has completed the acquisition of all of the shares of WMC Resources and now owns 100% of the company some five months after launching its A$9.5 billion (€5.9 billion) takeover bid.

WMC Resources Ltd is a major diversified resources company and mines uranium at Olympic Dam in South Australia along with other minerals.

BHP Billiton offered A$7.85 (€4.9) per WMC share in the deal.
