BE strike on hold

30 November 2001

Unions and management at British Energy (BE) have agreed to a pay deal, averting industrial action planned to start on November 19.

BE has offered an increased pay deal that is likely to be accepted. Early this month, members of the five unions involved in the dispute will be balloted on a 3% "no strings attached" pay offer, effective from July 2001. If members reject the offer, industrial action could commence by the end of the month.
