Areva wins Spanish fuel contract

Areva NC has signed a six-year contract with Central Nuclear de Trillo for the supply of around 240 fuel assemblies and related services for the CNT 1 reactor, located in Guadalajara, Spain. The contract will take effect in 2010.

Since the commissioning of CNT 1 in 1988 up to the end of 2009, Areva has delivered more than 1100 fuel assemblies to the plant.

Louis-Francois Durret, senior executive vice president, fuel business unit of Areva commented: “This contract reinforces our strong relationship and cooperation with Central Nuclear de Trillo. This recent success is also a sign of recognition of the quality of our fuel assemblies’ offer, which we are very proud of.”
