AREVA to supply vessel head to US plant

19 March 2015

AREVA Inc. has been awarded a contract to fabricate and deliver a replacement reactor vessel head and control rod drive mechanisms to a US utility.

The contract with the un-named utility is worth several million dollars.

The equipment will be designed and manufactured by AREVA in Lynchburg, Virginia, and at the facilities in Saint-Marcel, Le Creusot and Jeumont in France. It is scheduled to be delivered to the United States in spring 2018.

The replacement of these components is part of AREVA's "Forward Alliance" programme, which offers nuclear utilities a range of products and solutions to reinforce the safe, long-term operation of their nuclear energy facilities.
