Areva not to appeal Finnish decision

French firm Areva is expected to accept a decision by Finland's Ministry of Trade and Industry to refuse an application for uranium prospecting licences.

The ministry reportedly rejected the application on the grounds that it covered too large an area, and while Areva has said that an appeal would be too expensive, the company has not ruled out filing separate applications for smaller prospecting areas.
