The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) intends to conduct a competitive procurement for a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for the production of Radiation Air Particle Detectors (APDs) to be placed onboard nuclear-powered vessels. Multiple awards may be made under this solicitation. The intended period of performance is from the date of award through five (5) years thereafter. The detailed requirements will be provided in the solicitation to be issued on or about 15 December 2010.

Interested contractors must request a design package no later than 14 days after the issue date of the solicitation. Upon receipt of the request, interested contractors will be supplied the design package to include drawings, schematics, parts list, and other pertinent information. Contractors expressing an interest after 14 days from the issue date of the solicitation may not be considered. There will be one (1) site visit held at NSWCCD during the month of January 2011. Only interested contractors with a design package will be permitted to attend the site visit. All interested contractors are strongly encouraged to attend. The RFP will contain the details of the site visit and instructions for registration.
