AECL retubing deal for Korean CANDU

Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) has been awarded a contract by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co (KHNP) for the retubing of the Wolsong 1 CANDU 6 nuclear reactor.

Wolsong 1 began operations in 1982 and is one of four CANDU 6 plants owned and operated by KHNP.

The fixed price contract, AECL’s first international retubing project, has a 55-month schedule. Specific terms were not disclosed.
