Nuclear legacy

Since 1962, IMI Truflo Marine have been specialist designers, manufacturers and suppliers of high integrity valves, actuators and pressure-reducing stations for critical applications.


In 1975, the first IMI Truflo Marine valves supplied to the nuclear industry were installed in the UK's Heysham 2 and Torness nuclear power plants. For nearly forty years, IMI Truflo Marine have supplied thousands of valves to nuclear customers including Rolls Royce, EDF, Rosatom, Forsmark Vattenfall and the Royal Navy.

Our products have an outstanding reputation for integrity and reliability in the most demanding environments. Our high integrity valves provide faultless performance in extreme applications with technology developed in the naval marine industry for nuclear submarines.

IMI Truflo Marine offer in-house design, research and development, quality assurance, supply chain management and project management capabilities. Providing through life support and obsolescence management for in-service nuclear stations from concept to decommission.

Technology

Top Entry Ball Valves

IMI Truflo Marine supply a range of top entry ball valves with proven history of service on UK stations. Manufactured in a range of materials selected to suit the application, with interchangeable seat materials. The trunnion mounted design allows for lower and more consistent torque figures, easier actuation and lower load on seats resulting in improved life and reduced seat distortion through hydraulic or dynamic shock.

Swing Check Valves

Our range of swing check valves provide reliable non-return sealing. The spring load hinge design prevents failure in an open flow situation whilst enabling in-line access to maintain the valves.

Hydraulic and Pneumatic Actuators

Our precision engineered bespoke nuclear actuators are rugged, dependable and corrosion resistant. The range offers a compact, space saving solution and has been performance seismic tested to extreme vibration and shock resistance levels. With double acting and spring return models installed and proven in the most demanding environments.

Sealing Technology


IMI Truflo Marine design team offer bespoke sealing solutions to meet specifications. Providing seat and stem sealing to tight tolerances whilst maintaining operability and in-service maintenance capabilities.


Component Manufacture


IMI Truflo Marine also offer specialist component manufacture to support nuclear fuel fabrication and reactor internals. We provide machining, fabrication, welding, assembly and support service capabilities to nuclear partners.
