Superior Tube - Small diameter tubes in stainless steel, nickel, titanium and zirconium alloys

Superior Tube is a world-class manufacturer of precision tubing in stainless steel, nickel, titanium and zirconium alloys in seamless, welded & redrawn, straight lengths and coils.

Involved in the nuclear industry since the 1930s, Superior Tube has been developing high quality tubing solutions for in-core reactor components where tubing is critical to the fail-safe operation of nuclear reactors. Our premium quality withstands extreme temperatures, pressures and radiation.

  • Alloys: Stainless steel, nickel, titanium, zirconium
  • Seamless, welded or welded & redrawn (Weldrawn®) finish
  • Size range up to 1.5” (38.1mm) outside diameter
  • Straight lengths up to 65 ft. (20 m) and coils up to 33,000 ft. (10,000 m) long
  • Straight lengths: Maximum 20m (65 ft)
  • Coils: Up to 100kg (200 lb) or up to 10,000m (32.808 ft) length with orbital joints

Nuclear applications
We manufacture highly reliable components, which play a major role in ensuring high quality, long lifecycles and safety in supercritical nuclear applications including:

  • Primary and Field Instrumentation
  • Control Rod Drive Mechanism
  • Fuel Cans or Cladding Tubes
  • Flux Thimble Guide Tubes
  • In-Core Heat Exchangers
  • Steam Generators

Instrumentation Tubes

Safety-critical control and measuring devices for nuclear reactors require high quality tubes. Superior Tube supplies instrumentation tubing in high performance stainless steel and nickel alloys.

Nuclear Control Rod Tubes

Our control rod and cladding tubes are deployed in nuclear reactor cores and endure extremely demanding environments for each reactor’s lifecycle. The tubing is safety-critical and controls the nuclear reaction and energy output within the core.

Heat Exchanger Tubes

Superior Tube offers a range of high quality heat exchanger products manufactured in stainless steel and nickel alloys. These high-strength, corrosive resistant alloys maintain optimum performance in extreme conditions.

O-rings and Seals

Superior Tube manufactures high-quality metal seal tubing and O-ring seals for reactors: fully compliant with order specifications and the integrity of the metal parts, enabling the safe running of all nuclear generators.

Condenser Tubes

Our high quality stainless steel, duplex, nickel alloy and titanium condenser tubes are used for the cooling, heating or re-heating of fluids or gases within electricity-generating steam turbines. Condenser tubing products are available in seamless, welded or welded drawn form.

Tubing Quality

  • Nadcap NDT
  • ISO 9001 / AS EN 9100
  • 10CFR50 Appendix B
  • ASME NQA1
  • ANSI/NCSL-Z-540
  • ISO 10012

Tubing supply is based upon the technical requirements of ASME III.
